About Our History

Founded in January of 2003 by a group of dental professionals based in Houston, Texas. The Houston Hispanic Dental Association is a trusted non-profit organization dedicated to the advocacy of oral health.

We are Houston’s only non-profit Hispanic Dental Association, HHDA relies on the generous support from our corporate and community partners. We are comprised of oral health professionals and students dedicated to promoting and improving the oral health of Houston’s underserved communities and providing advocacy for Hispanic oral health professionals across the US.

The HHDA is one of 14 nationwide local chapters of the National Hispanic Dental Association. The National Headquarters are located in Washington D.C.

For 15 years, HHDA has served as the leading voice for Hispanic oral health. We provide service, education, advocacy, and leadership for elimination of oral disparities in the Hispanic community. HHDA has enriched thousands of Houstonians lives through volunteer supported outreach efforts consisting of free dental care, the distribution of dental information, and oral hygiene education to both Hispanic dental professionals and the community at large.

HHDA is a beloved cultural and economic asset, and each year we serve more than 10,000 people through our community and education programs. We are committed to cultivating Houston dental professionals and developing future dental professionals by providing the best in Continuing Education courses, Community Service Events, and Scholarship Fundraising.
